Connect and the Food Pantry Join Forces

By 03/04/2020March 23rd, 2022No Comments

Connect staff member Su Tozer and the Food Pantry’s Partnerships Manager, Jo-Anne Ryan put a hamper together for one of our gluten free clients.

Connect is honoured to partner with the Addison Rd Community Centre Food Pantry to assist them with the delivery of food hampers direct to the homes of the vulnerable.

Our assistance will enable the Food Pantry to increase its outreach to meet growing demand beyond their current capacity to deliver.

With Connect clients heeding advice to stay at home where possible and only travel if it’s essential, we have the capacity to lend a hand to other organisations in our local community.

Over the coming days, Connect will work up to transporting over 100 hampers a day, door-to-door, within the Inner West area.

Community transport is an essential service. Connect continues to operate as normal, although like all other community transport providers, we have halted our popular social outings for now.

If you have a friend or family member who may need assistance with shopping or medical transport (or would enjoy one of our social outings in the future!), please contact us  to discuss how we can help, or visit our website for more details.
