Connect Services Update

By 25/03/2020 No Comments

Commencing 25 March 2020, Connect is putting in place major changes to the way it operates as the country deals with the coronavirus. These changes will affect all staff and clients and will remain in place until further notice.

Transport is an essential service and community transport is an essential part of this essential service. On that basis, we continue to provide vital services and take on new clients.

Our shopping, shuttle and medical services by bus, van and car continue, however our social outings have been suspended indefinitely.

We are committed to the health and safety of staff and clients and as such have stepped up the cleaning regime of our vehicles and equipment.  We ask valued clients to please follow staff instructions carefully as your regular service may now operate in a different way.

There are no current social distancing requirements for transport services, however, Connect has adjusted the way it delivers its services to maximise as best we can the social distancing of our clients and staff for everyone’s health and safety. This includes the number of clients we carry per vehicle, where they sit and how we handle client fares.

Some of our office staff are working from home where possible, and our drivers and bus assistants have been divided into teams to best ensure we can provide continuity of service in the event of an infection. We are open 0800 – 1700 and we can still be contacted on 9558-6800.

Like many businesses who utilise contingent labour, Connect is acutely aware of the impact this is having on our staff and we are doing the best we can to support them through this.

To our valued clients, please follow health advice and do not travel if you think you are unwell, even if you have booked. Contact your medical practitioner for advice immediately.

No one has managed through this before so there may be further changes as we learn more, try different things or the external situation changes even more dramatically.

If you have any concerns, please phone our office and speak to one of our friendly staff.

Thank you, take care and please monitor our website or Facebook pages for updates.

Remember, the one thing that hasn’t changed is our quality service.
