A Nod to Connect

Local parliamentarian (and self-proclaimed ‘proud inner-westie’), Jo Haylen MP, Member for Summer Hill recently spoke in NSW Parliament recognising the vital services that Connect: Inner West Community Transport Group Inc have been providing to our older people within the community during the Covid19 pandemic.  Jo is a strong advocate for women, the elderly and disabled, LGBTI people and families, groups that Connect strives to help every day.

Connect is a locally established and managed community transport organisation providing a door to door transportation service for seniors, as well as other eligible people who find it difficult to afford, or have difficulty accessing, private or public transport.

In addition to the Weekend Wanderer service Jo referred to in her address, Connect also provides a huge variety of social outings throughout the week.

Week in week out, we run multiple shopping services to Marrickville Metro and Leichhardt Marketplace, shuttle services to the City and all the surrounding teaching and referral hospitals  We also provide individual transport to those needing to get to appointments or visit family and friends, wherever , whenever.

Connect is extremely grateful for this acknowledgement from Jo, highlighting the important work we do within the community on a daily basis.

If you, a family member, or someone you know, would benefit from the opportunity to interact socially with members of the community, or find any of our services of assistance… call 9558 6800 or peruse our website for more details.
