Today we farewell Rob Finlay – Connect’s longest serving employee.
Before Connect was Connect – Rob started with Leichhardt Community Transport – before the ‘Marrickville’ was even added to our old name – back when the organisation was based in a tiny office in Glebe.
Along with a select few, Rob was one of the early staff who helped to establish Connect’s high quality service and our reputation for client care, reliability and integrity.
Over the years Rob has been witness many changes to the community sector, some good, some perhaps not so good.
Throughout, Rob has helped train and mentor a number of staff which has been of great assistance and reassurance to Connect management and his colleagues. What many may not know, is that Rob has made – more likely endured – a near 100km round commute each day in addition to the mileage he clocked up during his daily workload. This is an impressive commitment to the organisation, and to the clients – all who have only favourable things to say about him, and who will miss him greatly on the buses!
With over 12 years of service under his belt, Rob has seen the organisation grow considerably, and seen a lot of people come and go throughout his time here. What all of us here at Connect can agree on, is that Rob has been a wonderful and valued member of the team, and is highly respected by all, staff and clients alike.
He will be missed, and we hope we see him around the traps in the future in some capacity.
Good luck Rob, we wish you well!
